The Pétanque North West Easter Melee was held at Rochdale Pétanques home ground and in true Bank Holiday fashion it rained almost non stop!
But that didn’t stop us all having some eggstraordinary games and lots of fun.
17 contestants took part from Rochdale, Trafford and Llysfaen with people playing with different partners over 5 rounds.
The top places went to Rochdale Players:
1st – Dave Hall with an incredible 5 wins out of 5
2nd – John Woolley
3rd – Clive Westley
4th – Francoir Kinowski
Some of the highlights of the day included:
Joanne managed an eggceptional point with the final boul of the game from 11 meters away to scramble it up and take the match.
Linda who is a pointer was egged on by her triple team mates to take a shot and cracked it with a careau to win the game and it was on piste 7 (our carpark piste) it really was a Wow shot!!
John played in his first competition and came 2nd making it look over easy! Well done!!
There were a lot more excellent shots and games played by many good eggs today
And of course there was food .. Thanks to Linda for the sausage rolls and to Chris for the cakes
