CHANIA PETANQUE GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENTS – CRETE 2025
Dave & Linda went international this week, traveling to Chania, Crete, to take part in the prestigious International Chania Pétanque Grand Prix Tournaments—and by the sound of it, they had an incredibly busy (and exhausting!) week.
After arriving, they spent a few evenings practicing at the local pétanque club to get acclimated. On Saturday, they competed in the doubles competition, making it all the way to the semi-finals—just narrowly missing a spot in the final with a close 9–13 loss.
Not stopping there, they entered Sunday’s triples competition with a couple from Finland. Dave and Linda rotated turns playing in matches and pushing through a full day of untimed games under the Greek sun. The finals didn’t finish until 10:30 PM—but their hard work paid off. They delivered a truly astounding performance and went on to win the competition!
Today, they’re taking a well-earned break: relaxing on the sunbeds, sipping bubbly, and soaking up the sun. 🥂☀️
