Everyone at Rochdale Pétanque Club was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Heather.
Heather joined our club a few years ago, after seeing us play every Sunday and deciding it looked like great fun. She quickly became a cherished member of our community.
Heather loved playing, but most of all she loved to socialise. She would sit with us and share wonderful stories — and as both a Headteacher and a vicar’s wife, she certainly had plenty to tell. Her warmth, humour and enthusiasm lit up every session.
On competition days, Heather was the team’s biggest supporter, cheering from the sidelines with her trademark passion. She was also a devoted Manchester City fan, something she never failed to talk about with pride.
Everyone at Rochdale Pétanque sends their sincere condolences to Heather’s family. She will be greatly missed, and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
