Rochdale Pétanque: A Year in Review

2025 Highlights

What an incredible year it’s been for Rochdale Pétanque in 2025! We’ve seen our club grow stronger with each passing month, and it’s been an exciting journey filled with memorable moments.

From local competitions to international events, our members have represented Rochdale Pétanque with pride, bringing home medals and trophies while fostering a sense of community. Whether it’s been the social sessions, the friendly games, or our successful teams, we’ve had a fantastic year together.

Key Highlights of 2025:

Team Building with Manchester United Foundation: A special day connecting with the Manchester United Foundation members, showing that pétanque is about fun, teamwork, and community. We look forward to hosting more of these events in the future.

Hosting & Competing in Pétanque North West Events: This year, we’ve been proud to be part of a revitalized Pétanque North West (PNW), with many new plans to grow and develop the sport in the region. Our members have been central to this evolution, and we’re excited about what’s to come.

Lancashire Cup & Ryder Cup: We hosted our first-ever Lancashire Cup, with players from Manchester, Yorkshire, and Wales joining us for a fantastic competition. The Ryder Cup, a collaboration between Rochdale and Heckmondwike, was another milestone event that proved how much we can achieve when we work together.

A Year of New Beginnings & Fond Memories: As a community, we’ve celebrated new births into our Pétanque family, and while we’ve also experienced the loss of loved ones, we’ve kept their memories close. The strength and spirit of our members continue to shine, and our community is stronger than ever.

As we move into 2026, we’re looking forward to even more successes, new friendships, and, of course, more games. Let’s keep growing and thriving – one boule at a time, one game at a time, and one end at a time.

Here’s to an even bigger, better, and stronger 2026!

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year!
