Rochdale P\u00e9tanque crossed the border into Yorkshire today to take part in Huddersfield P\u00e9tanque Club\u2019s Anniversary Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/a>Teams from around the Northwest including Yorkshire, Nottingham and Manchester took a squad of 7 to compete in 3 different sets of competitions – Mixed Doubles, Open Doubles and Triples with squad points accumulated for the overall win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather was warm but the competition was scorching \"\ud83d\udd25\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We met and played against both familiar and new to us teams and had a fantastic day with some very tough competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rochdale\u2019s team consisted of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dave & Linda – Mixed Doubles – Winning the Gold with an amazing 4.5 out of 5 games<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Darren & Debbie – Open Doubles – Runners up Silver<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ian, Christine & Paul H – Triples – Runners up Silver<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The heroes of the day were Dave & Linda who not only played an absolute blinder of a game but also fed us at lunchtime with a lovely meat & potato pie – Thanks \"\ud83d\ude03\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The overall squad points were so close it came down to a one end play off between Heckmondwike Petanque Club<\/a> and Rainworth Petanque who each had 19 points, with the triples teams playing for the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Big Congratulations to Heckmondwike Petanque Club<\/a> squad were the overall FIRST Place Winning Squad<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In SECOND place Rainworth P\u00e9tanque Club<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in THIRD place was Rochdale P\u00e9tanque<\/p>\n\n\n\n
