<\/a>It was a cold and wet day, but there was plenty of Christmas cheer for our Christmas Doubles Competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was fantastic to see everyone in their festive outfits, and there were some brilliant efforts, but the obvious winner of the day was Brian, complete with Father Christmas riding a reindeer \u2013 which ended up very soggy by the end of the day and must have been difficult to play in!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes or bought raffle tickets. We raised \u00a3190 for club funds, which will help maintain the pistes and buy essential equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, it was all about the boules, and there were some great games played despite the weather and the puddles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each pair played five rounds, with the top three pairs determined by wins plus score difference. There was even a one-end play-off for 3rd place as Linda & Ben and Dan & Jack finished on the same score.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1st Place: Dave & Linda \u2013 Rochdale<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2nd Place: Clive & Kath \u2013 Heckmondwike<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3rd Place: Linda & Ben \u2013 Rochdale<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather, and special thanks to Dave & Linda for putting up the marquees to keep us dry, and to Ian for running the whole day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
