The P\u00e9tanque North West Players Cup Doubles competition was held today at Rochdale P\u00e9tanque in Milnrow, with 13 teams competing for medals and the overall winners\u2019 trophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The morning session consisted of three seeded rounds, which determined placement into the Gold and Silver competitions. This was followed by knockout rounds in the afternoon. All games were timed at 50 minutes, with a short lunch break built in to ensure the event finished before daylight faded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rochdale P\u00e9tanque\u2019s bakers once again did us proud, providing a fantastic spread of sausage rolls, cheesy parcels, and a variety of cakes \u2014 always a Winner!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As ever, the standard of play was excellent throughout the day, with some very close matches and fiercely contested ends across both competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Runners-up: Debbie & Darren<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to all the winners, and many thanks to everyone who attended. A special thank you to PNW and Mike for running and organising the event, and to Milnrow Cricket Club for providing tea and coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
