The PNW Players Cup Doubles contest was held at Rochdale P\u00eatanques pistes at Milnrow, with contestants from around the region and visitors from Llysfaen Petanque Club in Wales. It\u2019s envisioned that this will become an annual event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first couple of rounds decided which of the 16 teams would be split into the top and bottom tiers with 8 teams in each. Rochdale did very well to get 5 of it\u2019s pairs into the top tiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every single player in the tournament put in an impressive effort to progress through the rounds but the semi finals saw 3 of Rochdale Teams and a team from Trafford battle it out for the top spots and the Trophy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Bottom tier Traffords Jack and Lewis played against teammates Stuart and David and took the top spot<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the finals Rochdale’s Christine & Ian played against team mates Darren & Debbie and took 3rd place. Traffords Kevin & Denis played Rochdale\u2019s Francois & Joanne in a tense and exciting match resulting in an outstanding win for Francois & Joanne winning 13 – 6 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Score Holio<\/a> was used for the administration of the event, the app enabled players names to be entered and drawn at random and also placed each team on a piste at random. Players were also able to look at the app to see where and who they were playing and keep updated on their own scores and those of other players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A really useful tool if you are planning an event<\/p>\n\n\n\n
